From the Hand of K-L - March 2012

Well, that was quite the introduction, barely a mention of myself and then a whole page long monologue courtesy of Zillah. It's not that I'm shy, well, actually, I am very shy at times; with only a smiley face to communicate what I'm feeling. But I like the character voices in my head and on paper to do the talking and give S.T.E.A an introduction.

I should give this a little more padding, though, shouldn't I? Perhaps a quick mention of what I did last night and a little about myself... Nom, nom, nom, I had some pizza and watched a Westie sing on Youtube. Cola and fizzy drinks keeps me alive throughout the night so I can write without stopping, and the only other thing that can hold my attention so entirely besides writing is knitting, reading a Stephen King book and video gaming.

Video games always inspire me, Stephen King made me fall in love with horror, and now I've got the two combined. I utterly adore horror games, the storylines are always so deep and psychological; Theresia, Haunting Ground, Silent Hill, the symbolism and gothic, haunting atmosphere of these games sometimes bleed into my subconscious and influence me. Anti-heroes are my favourite characters to write. They're not exactly good, a little bit twisted, but they have their morals and you kind of respect them for that.
Oh, and the knitting's for whenever I can't think of anything to write, or there's no paper or working pens in the house, and I need to do something with my hands. My Tom Baker Doctor Who scarf is well underway, though it's more to do with there being no working pens than any writer's block. (Update: It did get finished!)

S.T.E.A is my first series. Most of the other things I have written are short stories. I started writing Hellver Gate when I was fourteen, and that was a long, long time ago. I have planned six books, and the story traverses across different time periods. Though it's steampunk and horror/fantasy so the accuracy isn't exactly all there ;) I love writing adventures, character dysfunctions and how that effects their relationships with the other characters in the story, and there is always an 'eccentric' leading the main characters on a wild goose chase.

S.T.E.A One -- Hellver Gate is the first book in the series, and due for release on the Amazon Kindle in April. The posts in Zillah and Elenore's hands that will be showing up for the rest of the month are a prelude to the events that happen in the book. A little... taster of the isolation and mystery of Hellver Gate castle.

I am also working on several other writing projects, so I'll be talking about them too later on in the month. One is with my family, who are all contributing to this book, and it is set in Happisburgh, and the coastline and eroding cliffs there. As well as a short story collection by myself with steampunk elements for each one.

<3 nice to see you posting a bit more about yourself. I didn't know you were working on a writing project with your family – and about the sea! – :) that sounds wonderful.

    1. Thank you, Sol xx We've just started, I'll post up a few things once it's a bit more finished, right now we're still arguing about names and how the ending's going to be though :D.
